“Don’t bring a child here. My son was treated by Dr. Amira, who bonded with him and gained his trust. She never requested a meeting with me and booked all appointments directly through him. A teenager. I never spoke with her until she discharged him, without my knowledge, because he cancelled two appointments and claimed that she tried to reschedule for a month but never called or sent any kind of communication. She took him back under her care only to discharge him again without warning. There is no process for treating minors and no concern for the mental well-being of children, despite this being a “mental health facility”. My son has quickly declined and withdrawn from relationships because this rejection has further exacerbated the issues we sought help for. I never expected him to deal with abandonment in what should be a safe place. I withdrew myself from my own therapist because I was no longer comfortable knowing this facility takes such a careless approach to children. Watching my son go through yet another layer of grief is beyond heartbreaking.”
